Visited The Marcel Duchamp Herne Bay Symposium on 2 August. An impressive event where an unlikely combination of international Duchamp scholars were brought together to shed their light on Duchamp’s stay in Herne Bay during August 1913. And who brought together some good arguments how amongst others the former pier (of which only a lonely island is left – see above) with its arcade machines, might have had a substantial influence on the development of The Large Glass. looking forward to the publication of the papers.
