Inspired by Marcel Duchamp’s ‘Obligations for the Roulette of Monte Carlo’, I have decided to issue obligations as a way of funding my PhD research on the quality of the collaboration between curators, artists and scientists at the University of Plymouth, UK with Transtechnology Research.

The issue of these obligations is a curatorial art collaboration between me and a yearly selected artist which this year is Sara Bomans. Buyers of the obligations will receive regular updates on my research and a copy of the text that I will in turn write about this collaboration and that will be published towards the end of 2011 in a limited edition for obligation holders only.

The proceedings of these obligations will solely be used for the funding for this PhD research and related costs.

Obligations will be issued yearly as long as the research is running and/or funding is necessary.
